Going out on a mission!
Hi Church!
I just came back from an amazing trip. I got sent out by Cross Culture and I’m so happy that our church was willing to do this with me.
I always wanted to go on a mission trip and as soon as I got the chance I took it. God has done so many things in my life during this trip. I went with a team of YGs from the US and Europe. At first I was a little worried about the team since I didn’t know anyone, but God is good and we all grew very close.
Everyday I could see that my faith in God grew stronger and stronger. Every time we prayed we got an answer, even though it might not looked exactly as how we imagined it. Some days were more difficult than others. For example, there was a lot of rain and some of the days we even had snow.
The first day that we had snow, I got really discouraged, but when I saw how happy my teammates where over all the snow, I actually got happy and I just had to start a snowball fight with them. Because of the snow, most people stayed inside and we didn’t got the chance to talk with people that day and that made me even more discouraged. I asked God why he took us there in the first place. Even though I’m half Swedish, my body couldn’t handle the cold weather and I started to have pain in my knees. I was mad at God for sending me to that place, especially since we didn’t find anyone that we could P the G to. But the next day we woke up early and decided to head out to find a tea shop and maybe talk with people there. We met a guy that told us that it was too early in the morning and that we should just head to the bus terminal and wait there for our bus. On the way we met this brother that we started to talk to and we told him that we wanted tea before our bus to the next city but all the tea shops were closed. He took us to the bus terminal. On the way he told us that since we were tourists he didn’t want us to go alone. He followed us to the bus terminal and got us all tea. While we were sitting there we started to P the G to him until our bus came. He told us that he had been living in this city for 5 years and that he didn’t have any friends until we showed up. When we talked to this guy I started to see why God sent us to that city and I started to repent.
During this trip I started to realise what it’s like to follow God for real and if you want to know more of what we did, just contact me and I’ll tell you everything.
